Anyone else feel like a juggler in a circus act?
Between work, family obligations, and tons of other activities, I often feel I’m tossing up one thing while waiting on something else to fall on my head or shatter on the ground. Life can easily become an exhaustive to-do list–keeping us focused on our troubles and way too stressed to savor the moments we should be enjoying everyday. Who else feels overwhelmed? Here are 7 steps to de-stress.
Overwhelmed? 7 Steps to De-stress:
#1 Wake Up Early
What is it about those extra few minutes between the alarm and the snooze button that feel so glorious? All too soon the glory of the moment has stolen away valuable time we could have used to set a positive tone for the rest of the day.
Allowing ourselves a small slice of time at the start of our day to relax, take a breather, and more important, spend time with God, will de-clutter our thoughts and keep us focused on completing the tasks that count.
#2 Give Gratitude
Thank you. It’s amazing how these two words reshape us. Each morning, grab a journal and jot down a couple of reasons you’re thankful.
Beginning your day with thankful thoughts will crowd the space, leaving no room for your worries, anxiety, or time wasted on those things that overwhelm and keep us stressed.
This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24
#3 Cast Your Cares
There are plenty of things to worry about or stress over.
Whatever it is, give it over to God. Your biggest step to de-stress begins when you cast your cares on the One who not only cares for you, but can handle even the heaviest of burdens.
#4 Believe God is Who He Says He Is
Once you hand over your worries, believe God for who He is. Trust Him to provide your needs, heal your diseases, and restore your situations.

#5 Take a Moment
Throughout your day, take moments to remember.
Remember His blessings.
Remember His promises.
Remember His purpose that He is working right now within you.
Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! Psalm 46:10
#6 Keep it Simple
We overcomplicate the simplest of tasks and we cause most of our own stress on countless obligations and trivial issues we’ve chosen and pursued.

#7 Then Move
God’s work within us begins when we begin working.
Take your moments and make them count.
