Fall is my favorite time of year. Its cool, crisp mornings mingled with vibrant golden hues signify a change–from long hours of busyness to shorter days to slow us down. It offer us an opportunity to enjoy simplistic moments and a time of resting.
But how often do we take the restful moments?
‘Tis the Season for a Time-Out
Our lives have become a cycle of busyness where we’re so distracted by the next moment, we lose the enjoyment in living within the moment today.
Whether it’s the splash of color across the landscape or the ripened fruit to pull from its trees, God provides His autumn details for our enjoyment, reminding us of His provisions and His goodness.
‘Tis the Season for:
Thoughtfulness
Take a time-out to think about where you’re going. Are your actions aligned with God’s plan? Are your priorities pushing you forward in His purpose?
Spending time with God today will guide your steps tomorrow. [tweetable]
Thanksgiving
In the 7 Steps to De-stress post, I mentioned gratitude journals. It’s a great practice to write our thank-yous. Taking a couple of moments to jot down what we’re thankful for changes our attitudes and sets our thoughts on a positive pursuit.
Thank God for what He’s doing right now in this season, today.
‘Tis the Season for a Time-Out–
This season, take time to enjoy simplistic moments. Shed the busyness and rest in God’s grace. [tweetable]
