What is beautiful?
In a world consumed with beautiful things, our reality is warped by Hollywood perspectives and what does or doesn’t define us as beautiful.
I’ve struggled with the idea of it most of my life. For me, perfection became beautiful. With straight lines and flawless appearances, I believed beauty wrapped itself within ideal circumstances and how others perceived my life to be.
So, of course, I wanted them to see me as perfect. However, the more perfect I tried to be, the uglier my life and own perceptions became. The stress of perfection and trying to please everyone only suppressed the reality of what God required.

Humanity is what makes us beautiful–when we look beyond ourselves to realize the needs around us. When we take God’s love and share it with others, we demonstrate the beautiful Truth of who God is and the perfect love He has for us.
Humanity is beautiful.
–And God makes beautiful things.
May we focus on the beautiful reality of who God is and what He does for us to chase the Truth, fill the need, and change the world.
What about you?
Where have you experienced His beauty?

Mitzi, it’s so lovely to “meet you” through Beth’s link up today. One of my favorite verses on this topic is in Ecclesiastes where Solomon says that God makes “all things beautiful in His time.”

Mitzi, I was so happy to see you link-up again and what a beautiful post. I’ve struggled with this too…thought I needed to be perfect to be beautiful…but yes, the more I tried the uglier I became.. Loved the verse Lyli mentioned… “He makes everything beautiful in His time.” And this… “When we take God’s love and share it with others, we demonstrate the beautiful Truth of who God is and the perfect love He has for us.” Amen! Thanks so much for sharing with TWW.
