Owls are fascinating animals. Designed for the darkness, their wings are quiet, their talons are strong, and their eyes are large and wide enough to capture all the surrounding light.
Sometimes I wish for night vision.
What would life be like if we, too, could see beyond our present darkness and worrisome thoughts?
How different would we live within our current situation if our eyes were wide enough to look past it–where morning breaks to offer a new perspective?
How much stronger would feel if we could grab hold of something greater than ourselves during those moments when everything around us crumbles or when we feel consumed by our own failures?
The night can be scary.
Alone and engulfed in our own darkness is certainly the most terrifying of places. In the darkness, we stumble around and fall over each other. We wander aimlessly until we find ourselves cowering in the corner in fear.
Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; But happy is he who keeps the law. Proverbs 29:18
We can choose to see through the darkness.
Night Vision
When darkness tries to overtake us, God’s revelation sheds new light. [tweetable]
Like the owl flying on silent wings in the night, we can rise above our hopelessness and follow the light of His truth toward His promises.
