Psalm 51:6 has become a go-to verse for me.

And for a long time it’s been at the heart of everything I’m about.  A few years ago I found myself plunged in Psalm 51 where I read it over and over breathing in every word. It was me. In that moment I was so desperate for His Truth in the inward parts. And Psalm 51 grew to be the most jagged space for Truth to break through.

Psalm 51:6 is for every one of us–if we’re willing to cut deep enough to find it.

It’s where Truth conveys our own depravity and God as our greatest need.  It’s at the core of who we are in light of who He is.  It’s at the center of where we start and reveals just how far we’re willing to go.

Truth in the Inward Parts

Truth in the inward parts

If God desires truth in the inward parts, then we must be filling those places with something else entirely.

God wants to fill us with His truth–the only truth.  He wants to consume us with His reality.  But to do that we must rid ourselves of the world’s distortions and deceits.

Wisdom in the Hidden

Over time, as we replace our distorted truth for His, our lives become transformed into what He intended.  We’re then able to think better, act better, love more and forgive more.

Truth in the inward parts reveals wisdom.  And that’s what we’re looking for.  That’s what we so desperately need.

What about you?

Has God revealed His Truth in the inward parts?

How has it changed who you are and what you’re doing right now?

It takes courage to expose our inward parts to God. But when we do, the Holy Spirit begins to transform us. It’s painful sometimes but well worth it!
