As moms, we work hard to provide for our kids. We feed and clothe them and make countless sacrifices to provide the best for them in every possible way.

But we often get so busy with the daily that we forget our own influence on our child’s creativity. We often forget just how much we influence their perceptions of the world around them, or just how easy it is for us to take everyday moments to foster their love for learning and trying new things.

As moms, we greatly determine how our kids learn to solve problems and how they think. And there are many ways to nurture their creativity and provide the type of learning environment at home where they feel open and willing to experiment and explore.

Here are some simple ways to inspire your child to get creative:

15 Ways to Spark a Kid’s Creativity

1. Grab some old socks and make puppets.

2. Write a fun song together.

3. Spend time exploring the outdoors.

4. Keep a journal.

5. Find old items around the house to create a new toy.

6. Use everyday items to make your own instruments.

7. Visit the library on a regular basis.

8. Paint a mural on a large cardboard box.

9. Build a fort.

10. Make up stories.

11. Conduct a science experiment.

12. Record your own movie.

13. Create a new recipe.

14. Visit museums.

15. Create your own board game.

The possibilities are endless and the opportunities to ignite a child’s creativity are everywhere. This week, find new ways to use your imagination and get creative. Set out on a new learning adventure together, and demonstrate a love for learning new things with your kids.
