How to Write Your Own Family Story

I’m super excited to have my husband, Daniel, join me today for our Raise Your Genius conversation.

Daniel and I come from such different backgrounds. He was raised as an only child by a single parent, and I was raised in a home with both Mom, Dad,  and three other sisters.

Today, we talk about how we meshed our past experiences and ideas of what family looks like to write our own story. Through the years, we’ve learned to stop focusing so much on outside influences to spend more time creating a unique home environment, writing the story for ourselves.

It’s so easy for us to get caught up in comparisons. The grass is always greener and there are plenty of other families with bigger homes, driving better cars, and taking more extravagant vacations that we may never have or experience.

However, our purpose will never be uncovered through the lives of others. God holds our reality. It is only when we focus on His Truth, that we’ll ever begin to live out our purpose to accomplish the wonderful things He has planned.

As you listen to today’s podcast, I’ll hope you’ll celebrate the unique story you are writing within your own home. I pray you’ll take to heart the words of Colossians 3:2, “Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.”

As parents, let’s choose to focus on the truth of God’s word. He loves us and He has greater plans for our family than we could ever imagine or carry out on our own.

What about you?
