Looking for a fun book series for boys that will keep them reading?

The Origami Yoda Files is a favorite for middle grade boys.

Boys love to read The Origami Yoda Series

Origami Yoda Files are Books Boys Love

The Origami Yoda Files is hands-down my 10 year old son’s favorite book series this year. He has devoured these books and was sad to read to the end of it. But he’s convinced there’s more in the making based on how the books end, hinting there may be more on the way.

Tom Angleberger is a genius–seriously.

Not only is the story line the perfect idea for middle grade boys, but the books include hands-on activities where they can try their own paper folding to create the characters using origami.

The Origami Yoda Files by Tom Angleberger

Even better, it’s based on Star Wars where the reader can then create favorite Star Wars characters by folding paper after reading the book.

The idea is absolutely brilliant. And my son has now collected and read every book in the set. He’s also created all sorts of origami Star Wars people we now have scattered all over the house–don’t say I didn’t warn you.

There are several books in the series, so you may want to try just one in the set first:

The Strange Case of Origami Yoda

Darth Paper Strikes Back

The Secret of the Fortune Wookie

The Surprise Attack of Jabba the Puppet

Here are a few other books that have been added to the series, too:

Princess Labelmaker to the Rescue!

Emperor Pickletine Rides the Bus

Art2-D2’s Guide to Folding and Doodling

If you’re looking for gift ideas for Christmas or birthdays, an Origami Yoda book is perfect for middle grade boys. Here’s another book I discovered at the bookstore the other day. It’s not a part of the Origami Yoda Files series, but it looks like one my son would enjoy.

Oh my goodness those books are amazing! I wish I’d seen them when I was looking for ideas for two boys who wouldn have loved them! Making a note for their birthdays instead!

Hey Mitzi! Its Becky, your son’s teacher! I’m glad he loved these. I bought several sets of these books for the classroom, and they devoured them. Another series he will love is called The Secret Series by PSeudonymous Bosch. The first 5 each deal with one of the 5 senses. They just came out with the 6th. We don’t Have them at school, but my son loved these!
