This Red Velvet Hot Chocolate recipe includes a cream cheese whipped topping!
Looking for a festive drink your whole family will enjoy? Here’s a creamy hot chocolate that adds a little fun to your gatherings and topped with a wonderful cream cheese whipped topping, too.
We love red velvet cake at the Smith house. My mama makes the best red velvet cake you’ve ever tasted. Seriously, she’s been approached about selling them, so I’m not just claiming hers because she’s Mama. Plus, she bakes up the old Southern style classic from a recipe she’s had for as long as she can remember, too.
For us in the South, red velvet sets the tone for Christmas. So I thought I’d share a red velvet version of hot chocolate as a super easy way to add a little red velvet to your holiday treats this year.
This recipe makes 4-5 servings and includes a cream cheese topping. I like to add the cream cheese whipped topping to make it truly a red velvet version. What’s red velvet without cream cheese?
However, in a pinch you can opt for just regular whipped topping. The cream cheese just gives it a bit more flavor and I’ve included the directions on how to make some if you want to try that, too.
Here’s all you need to make this one.
