Best Homemade Sloppy Joe Recipe
Ingredients
1 small onion, chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
1 1/2 pound ground beef
1 teaspoon ground mustard
3 tablespoons firmly packed brown sugar
1 (6oz.) can of tomato paste
1/2 cup ketchup
salt and pepper, to taste
6 hamburger buns
Directions
In a large skillet, cook the chopped onion, celery, and ground beef until the ground beef is no longer pink. Drain and add the ground mustard, brown sugar, ketchup, and tomato paste and mix well.
Season with salt and pepper and allow to simmer for about 15 to 20 minutes.
Spoon the mixture onto hamburger buns and top with cheese, sliced pickles or other toppings, and enjoy!
