Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes Recipe : Here’s an easy ground beef recipe that gives you all the wonderful flavors of a Philly Cheesesteak. It’s loaded with fresh mushrooms, onions, and peppers–and of course, yummy cheese!
I love the yummy flavors of a cheesy sandwich, so the traditional Philly cheesesteak is always a hit at our house. But I’ve found an inexpensive and super easy version that’s just as yummy, too.
Here’s a way to take the same classic taste of a Philly cheesesteak that starts with a pound of ground beef. And, chances are, if you’re anything like us at the Smith House, you probably have an extra pound of ground beef tucked away in the freezer, too.
So pull out that ground beef and make these easy and delicious Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes tonight. They are loaded with fresh mushrooms, peppers, and onions, and covered in wonderful melted cheese. Your family will love them and you’ll love how easy they are to make. Even better, it’s all prepared in just one skillet, too.
Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes Recipe
Here’s how I like to make this one.
Ingredients
1 pound of ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 cup of sliced mushrooms
1 cup of beef stock
1/4 cup of steak sauce
sliced Provolone cheese

Directions
Brown ground beef in large skillet for about 5 minutes or so, then add onion, peppers, and mushrooms and cook until tender. Drain.
Stir in beef stock and steak sauce and cook for another 2 or 3 minutes on medium heat.
Slightly melt the cheese on the inside top half of each bun in a toaster or oven. Scoop the beef mixture on the bottom half of each bun and top with the cheesy toasted bun. Enjoy!
