Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole : Here’s a quick and easy chicken casserole recipe that’s perfect for dinner tonight. It’s creamy, delicious, and filled with the flavors your family will love!
As a busy mom, I’m always looking for quick and easy recipes that will satisfy my hungry family. I look for meal ideas that don’t take too much time, but I also want something that’s budget friendly and, of course, one that my boys will enjoy. That’s why I love this one. It checks all the must-haves for my kind of recipe, so it’s perfect for busy weeknights.
It’s loaded with all the wonderful flavors of a traditional Chicken Cordon Bleu, but without the fuss. And I especially love that it’s all prepared and baked in just one pan.
Don’t miss our creamy Chicken Pot Pie Casserole recipe. It’s delicious!
For this one, I decided to tweak the recipe by combining it with another. My Buttered Crusted Parmesan Pork Chops recipe is one of my family’s all-time favorites, so I decided to use the crust idea from that one to make the Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole. That means I used the parmesan cheese in the crust rather than in the creamy sauce. It made quite a tasty difference to create another comfort food classic I’ll be making throughout the months ahead.
The results for this one were fabulous! Since then, it’s been a favorite and it’s now part of my general go-to rotation of family friendly recipes. So I try to keep these ingredients on hand.

Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut in half
12 slices of thin sliced ham
1 1/2 cups swiss cheese, shredded
3 Tbsp. butter, melted
1 cup of Ritz crackers, crushed
3 Tbsp. grated parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
for the sauce. . .
3 Tbsp. butter
3 Tbsp. flour
1 cup milk
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 Tbsp. Dijon mustard
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and coat a 9 x 13 baking dish with cooking spray.
Layer the chicken in the bottom of the baking dish. Then, layer with ham slices and the cover with shredded swiss cheese.
In a medium bowl, blend the crushed crackers, grated parmesan, and salt and pepper. Sprinkle the cracker mixture over the cheese to create the next layer.
Pour melted butter over the top of the casserole and bake for 30 to 35 minutes until juices run clear and cracker crust is browned a bit.
To create the sauce, melt the butter in a saucepan slowly. Whisk in the flour and cook for just a couple of minutes. Then slowly pour in the chicken broth and milk. Make sure to continue whisking for about 5 minutes or so as the sauce thickens.
Remove the sauce from the heat and stir in the Dijon, Worcestershire, and a little salt and pepper to taste.
Top each serving of the casserole with the warm creamy sauce. Enjoy!

Hi! I made this for supper last night, and it was very tasty.! I made a half recipe but only halved the chick breasts, ham , and cheese. I kept the sauce and crumbs the same.. I added an extra squirt of Dijon for a little more tang.. I served steamed broccoli on the side. I’ll chop the ham next time, or maybe buy a chunk and cube it up. I will make again. Thank you for sharing.
